her steam engines were dredfully unrealiable, the best thing for the QE2 was when she had new engines put in, yes it ended the steam engine days for the cunard line but she got a lot more realiable engines in my appipin, i remeber reading once her engines cut out and she was just drigfted in mid ocean due to the fact of the engines had to be repaired, i must conmcor her engine room engines must of worked extremily hard back then to fix her each time she broke down

She was also alot cooler inside with the diesels. E Stairway at 5 deck was usually very hot.
