Lloyd's of London used to present each new Cunarder with a silver rose bowl, they commissioned a carved Britannia figurehead, which was mounted just inside the main entrance. The figurehead was carved by a Cornishman, Charles Moor.

The Britannia Restaurant was the largest restaurant seating up to 800 passengers.I was designed by Dennis Lennon as a lively room in red, white and blue.The blinds were white with blue symbol and there were no curtains.The restaurant was divided into small recesses with duckboard screens.Originally all food was delivered to the restaurant from the main galley one deck below by means of of a central pair of escalators.These were removed during the 1972 refit.In 1977 the name of the restaurant was changed to Tables of the World.

The original moulds for the ship's anchor were mounted on one of the bulkheads like a piece of sculpture:
