Some menus from QE2's last Southampton to Southampton voyage in November 2008

Re: QE2 Restaurants Menus
Attached is a scan of a menu for which I have no idea regarding the restaurant or significance. I have two of these, this one from June 1973 and another from May 1974. What is unusual is the timing, given that it is early summer and Auld Lang Syne is traditionally sung at New Year. According to my records the ship at the time was a day out from Southampton having just completed a Mediterranean Cruise, possibly suggesting that this was a gala dinner.
Appreciate any further information

Re: QE2 Restaurants Menus
They used to play it as part of the baked alaska parade, I wonder if it was connected to that. Just a thought.

It's probably a "Farewell Dinner" menu.

I don't think they had baked alaska parades on QE2 in those days: They were considered to be too "mass market" for QE2 until the 1990's.

There maybe some truth in that whilst it may not have been the celebrated BA parade, it may have been something similar. Perhaps it may have even evolved into the parade given the song is common to both.
